Bringing the world of performing arts to Boerne by presenting concerts that feature internationally acclaimed artists, educating through student outreach programs, and enriching the quality of life in the community.
Individuals from all walks of life, including businesses, churches, non-profits, and schools have come together to spend thousands of volunteer hours to make Boerne Performing Arts and Boerne Performing Arts FOR KIDS a reality. In addition to the current Board of Directors, a cast of hundreds of volunteers have dedicated their time over the past twelve years as ushers, providing backstage artist hospitality, distributing posters, and assisting with the FOR KIDS programs and much more.

OUR HISTORY: Founded in June 2011, Boerne Performing Arts was created by a very motivated group of local individuals who undertook the mission of bringing the world of professional performing arts to Boerne, Texas. Within 9 months, the organization was created, successfully presented its first three-concert season in early 2012, and positively impacted 2,000 local students through the Boerne Performing Arts FOR KIDS programs.
Boerne Performing Arts began as an autonomous committee operating under the Hill Country Council for the Arts, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to develop and sustain an environment that supports and promotes awareness, appreciation, education, and access to all the arts in Kendall County and the Texas Hill Country. After their second successful Boerne Performing Arts season, the Boerne Performing Arts committee moved forward with their inceptive goal of becoming an independent non-profit corporation. In March of 2014, Boerne Performing Arts successfully received its 501(c)3 non-profit status.
Our nonprofit organization has been almost completely volunteer-driven and enjoyed a high degree of total community involvement as evidenced by the active partnerships with Boerne Independent School District, Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation, the City of Boerne, Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, and the Boerne Convention and Visitors Bureau, for which we are forever grateful.
Over 39,000+ students have benefited from the Boerne Performing Arts FOR KIDS programs, experiencing world-class professional performing artists through student programs, master classes, Preludes & Interludes, and Art Galleries. Our wish is that these students have been inspired by these performances and have made a lifelong desire for them to participate in and enjoy the world of the performing arts.
We regretfully announce that Boerne Performing Arts will no longer be able to provide these world-class performances for our community after one Grand Finale show on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
Factors beyond our control have contributed to this difficult decision, such as the cumulative impact of Covid-19, a sluggish economy, and lagging ticket sales, which made continuing a volunteer, donor-based organization such as ours financially unsustainable.
Without the unflagging support of our many corporate sponsors and other major contributors, it would not have been possible for the success we enjoyed over the past twelve years of bringing the world of performing arts to Boerne. For that we are grateful.
2024 SEASON
The Twelfth Season of Boerne Performing Arts featured three dynamic groups that were hits with our audiences. The Swingles vocal group kicked off our 2024 Season with an amazing performance with their trademark vocal dexterity. Drum Tao, always a favorite among our patrons, awed both the children at a matinee performance and those in attendance at our evening performance with their sheer power and talent on the “Wadako drums,” flutes, and harps. Our final season performance featured the acclaimed International Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. With amazing talent and their dry British humor, the audiences were tapping their toes and were thoroughly entertained. Over 2,800 BISD students were treated to free matinee performances this season.
2023 SPECIAL EVENT
The recent Grammy Award-winning group, Time For Three, ushered in the Holiday Season with their uncommon blend of vocals and instruments. Their performance featured various eras, and styles of classical and Americana music that left us wanting more.
2023 SEASON
Boerne Performing Arts kicked off our Eleventh Season with the amazing Four Phantoms in concert. All four of these talented artists have collectively played the iconic masked role in Phantom of the Opera over 6,000 times! In our second performance of the season, we welcomed the Royal National Dance Company’s Fire of Georgia. They performed traditional folk dances in exquisite costumes from their home country of Georgia. Ending our 2023 season, we were thrilled to host the awe-inspiring Peking Acrobats, featuring the Shanghai Circus. Their high-energy performance amazed the audience with their feats of balance, gymnastics, daring acrobatics, and precision tumbling. We were able to host almost 3,000 BISD elementary students with a free matinee performance of three of our season artists.
2022 SPECIAL EVENT
We were happy to welcome back the talented and entertaining group Canadian Brass for a special Holiday Event to kick off our 2023 Season. With their unique blend of brass instruments, they performed playful renditions of Christmas songs to ring in the Christmas season.
2022 SEASON
To celebrate our 10th Anniversary Season, we began with the highly entertaining and acclaimed performance of Neil Berg’s 50 Years of Rock and Roll. Then, what better way to continue celebrating our 10th Anniversary than with The Ten Tenors who performed some of their romantic love songs. Boerne Performing Arts continued to thrill patrons with a new act by MOMIX, an exhilarating performance that amazed and astonished the audience. And on top of that, around a thousand elementary students were given the opportunity to see every performance — FOR FREE!
2021 SPECIAL EVENT
Returning to Boerne to kick off the holiday season, Voctave performed a magical evening celebrating The Spirit of the Season … and did not disappoint! Their stunning performance was indeed magical and got everyone in the holiday mood!
2021 SEASON
The entire 2021 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Boerne Performing Arts is working with the agents of these artists to try to reschedule future performances by these artists when their tours will permit.
2020 SPECIAL EVENT
While our hopes were high to be able to present concerts before Christmas of 2020, it was not safe for either the artists or the audiences to be in an auditorium setting. We hope that the Canadian Brass will be able to join Boerne Performing Arts for a future holiday show.
2020 SEASON
Boerne Performing Arts was sizzling with their HOT-HOT-HOT season featuring VOCTAVE, an evening of unparalleled a cappella singing performed to a full house. Then the HOT-HOT-HOT season turned into our first NOT-NOT-NOT season. In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, Boerne Performing Arts had to cancel the appearances of TAP PACK and MOMIX. However, we had already positively impacted 2,000 students through our FOR KIDS programs for the season! We sincerely hope that the touring schedules of both TAP PACK and MOMIX will allow them to come to Boerne in the very near future!
2019 SPECIAL EVENT
Christmas with The 5 Browns kicked off the holiday season in Boerne. Five Steinway Grand Pianos masterly played by Ryan, Melody, Greg, Desirae and Deondra provided a Christmas Celebration that is such a rare treat to experience! Students filled the auditorium during the school day…and the public filled the auditorium for the evening show!
2019 SEASON
Boerne Performing Arts’ Keep Calm and Carry On theme for the 2019 season was a sensational sell-out! Everyone “kept calm and danced on” with Trinity Irish Dance Company…then changed gears to “strum on” with the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain…and then they “couldn’t keep calm because they were swingin’” with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy! 3,000 for students were engaged with FOR KIDS programs and two more fine arts scholarships were presented.
2018 SPECIAL EVENT
Joy to the World…The Ten Tenors returned to Boerne in 2018 to celebrate Christmas! An all-time Boerne favorite, The Ten Tenors filled every seat in the house with their holiday show, Home for the Holidays! This winter wonderland of holiday favorites kicked off the 2018 Christmas festivities!

Returning to Boerne for their third time, The Ten Tenors performed both a FOR KIDS show and an evening show to full houses! Their show, Wish You Were Here, celebrated musical legends lost before their time and other traditional favorites. The Vocal Wonders from Down Under continue to be favorites in the Texas Hill Country!
2018 SEASON
Sensational Season Seven introduced our first artist from South America…Tango Fire! The Accordion Virtuosi of Russia left the audiences spellbound with their technical mastery of an instrument so revered in Russia. The 2018 season closed with a perennial favorite…TAO! The FOR KIDS programs included TAO, Accordions, and The Ten Tenors…introducing another 3,000 students to the world of professional performing arts! Two high school seniors from Boerne were awarded Fine Arts Scholarships.
2017 SEASON
Year Number Six added two new countries to our global program. The season opener featured Vocalosity from New York City, and then journeyed to the Russian Season Dance Company followed by a ride on the Taj Express from India. The FOR KIDS programs provided an in school show by each of the visiting artists to a total of 3,000+ students, and three scholarships were awarded for students pursuing a career in the Fine Arts.
2016 SEASON
To celebrate their fifth anniversary season, “A Night at the Oscars” opened the season featuring The Hollywood Concert Orchestra, Red Carpet Entry, and an After Party! The festivities continued with the return of TAO drummers from Japan, and then concluded with our largest production to date, The Pirates of Penzance! 3,000+ more students were introduced to professional performing arts, and a scholarship program was instituted.
2015 SPECIAL EVENT
The Ten Tenors from Australia rolled into Boerne with their Home for the Holidays production. A packed house enjoyed the charismatic voices from Down Under as it “snowed” on stage at Champion High School bringing a unique Christmas spirit to Boerne.
2015 SEASON
Boerne Performing Arts continued their fourth season playing to full houses for each evening event, plus opened the eyes of another 3,000 students with their FOR KIDS programs. The season began with Canadian Brass parading through the audience to a New Orleans Funeral dirge…through the complicated and intricate acts of the New Shanghai Circus…ending with a Broadway spectacular of hit tunes. Each visiting artist enriched the quality of life in our small town with BIG events!

2014 SEASON 
Playing to a full house has continued to be the tradition for Boerne Performing Arts. From the opening of “New York, New York” by the Ten Tenors…to the closing encore of “Amazing Grace” by Time for Three, the variety and quality have continued through the 2014 season. The intimate setting of the Champion Auditorium provides concertgoers with a welcoming and personal relationship with each of the visiting artists…and each evening in 2014 concluded with a “Meet and Greet” of the artists in the Auditorium lobby.
2013 SEASON
Boerne Performing Arts continued their tradition of SOLD OUT audiences in the 2013 season while bringing a broad spectrum of world-renown performing artists to the hill country. The volunteer-driven organization presented three concerts within a one month time span and provided the exhilarating and enthusiastic sounds of Drumline Live, the ultimate artistic quality demonstrated by The 5 Browns (exclusive Steinway artists), and the melodic/spiritual music of Ireland presented by Celtic Nights. By continuing to gain acclaim by local and statewide media outlets, Boerne Performing Arts spotlights the arts community and provides another dimension that enhances the economic well being of the city of Boerne.
2012 SEASON
The Boerne Performing Arts organization became a reality in August of 2011. The next four months were spent preparing for their Inaugural Festival of the Performing Arts. In a matter of 35 days, the organization presented Vienna Boys Choir, TAO: The Art of the Drum, and Bowfire to three sold out audiences. While 57% of the concertgoers were from Boerne, the other 43% came from surrounding hill country communities, San Antonio, and other Texas Cities including Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi, Waco, Temple, and Dallas. Many “Winter Texans” attended the events including visitors from Canada!
